Comprehensive Class FAQ

SUB-TESTS INCLUDED

As of September 2025, our COMPREHENSIVE CLASS includes English, Math, and Reading. This mirrors the move by the ACT to make Science optional.

SCIENCE

Even though Science is now optional on the ACT, some students will want to take the Science portion due to the programs of study they plan to pursue in college. Although the Comprehensive Class will not include Science most cycles, tutoring is an excellent way to get the instruction that you need.

Contact Matt Haynes at matthaynes1980@gmail.com to enquire about one-on-one tutoring for Science.

MARCH IN-SCHOOL TEST

Since most high schools are indicating that they will be including SCIENCE on their IN-SCHOOL TEST in March, we plan to include Science in the COMPREHENSIVE CLASS for that particular test cycle.

STUDENT WORKBOOKS

A professionally printed Student Workbook will be provided for every student in the comprehensive class. This includes everything needed during class time.

HOMEWORK

Students will be given homework in the form of Practice Tests and other exercises in order to reinforce the lessons taught during the class. The homework usually consists of 2 practice tests in the subject that was taught that week.

OFFICIAL ACT PREP GUIDE

The Official Act Prep Guide 2025-2026 is the only authorized source of the new version of the test. Students will need to purchase this book separately in order to complete some of the homework assigned.

Amazon and Barnes & Noble are good sources for purchasing the book.

The book does NOT need to be brought to class. Student Workbooks are all that is needed during class.
